  • England won the first session this morning and were dreaming of a first innings lead of 80-100 as they tore through the Aussie middle order.
  • But Steve Smith’s wonderful 141* changed all that, taking his team into a narrow lead and getting stuck in late in the day.
  • Alastair Cook and James Vince are back in the hutch, leaving Joe Root and Mark Stoneman with the job of getting on with things in the morning.
  • Ashes cricket at it’s most dramatic and intense…Joe Root (5) and Mark Stoneman (19) see the session through for England but it wasn’t comfortable.
