Himalayan Times – Cosmos College and Tribhuvan University ‘A’ advanced to the semi-finals of the Golden Gate University Cricket Cup here at the TU Stadium today.


  • In the quarter-final matches, Cosmos defeated New Summit College by 47 runs, while TU thrashed Caribbean College by 136 runs riding on Ishan Pandey’s century.
  • TU posted the mammoth total after man-of-the-match Pandey scored a quick fire 70-ball 126 not out with the help of 16 boundaries and five sixes.
  • In the first match, Cosmos posted 149-9 in their allotted 20 overs before restricting New Summit to 102-8.
  • Man of the match Kamal Singh Airee top scored for Cosmos with 39-ball 56 hitting four each boundaries and sixes, while Yogendra Singh Karki scored 25 off 30 balls and Sandeep Jora cracked five fours in his 12-ball 24.
  • In reply, New Summit’s Karan Shah scored 31 off 45 balls hitting three boundaries and Sharad Khakda scored 30-ball 25 with the help of three fours.
