  • Having finished a seven year spell with Warwickshire in 2017, Porterfield has been able to commit more time to the Interprovincial system in Ireland, where he has excelled for the North West Warriors by scoring 207 against the Leinster Lightning and then 152 against the Northern Knights last month.
  • With the door to County cricket being slowly shut, Cricket Ireland need to ensure that the domestic system in Ireland is in a suitable place for players to make that massive step-up to international level.
