A CRICKET development centre in Caboolture has moved a significant step closer after Caboolture Cricket Club received federal government funding for the project.

  • Club president Steve Adams said the plan was to build an indoor development centre with practice wickets and change and dressing rooms at the Grant Rd Sports and Community Complex at Morayfield.
  • Mr Adams said the 40m by 20m centre would be an all-weather facility.
  • “I have had interest from private schools to use the centre when it is built and from Queensland Cricket to use for its women’s teams.’’
  • The club plays in the Sunshine Coast competition with 15 teams in all age groups.
